The Centre for Literacy and Technology (CLT) is an emerging project committed to learning, co-creating, and moving towards possibilities of just literacy teaching practices.
Working closely with our partners across learning environments, we create curriculum, pedagogical tools, and multimodal, expansive resources for literacy including but not limited to print and screen. We work with a framework for critical literacy around reading research, learning to read and teaching to read. We define literacy as the practice of meaning-making that we all engage in: as a space of potential freedom, articulation, and change.
CLT started with a vision to reduce the gaps between reading research and classroom practices. We are invested in unpacking the layered and often unexpected ways in which literacy practices are embedded in different manifestations of power.
